We support cafes to get started, develop new work and share best practice. Community cafes promote healthier eating, and also benefit mental wellbeing through social interaction and the development of volunteers.

The Health Activist project was set up to improve the health of Gypsies and Travellers. A Lead health activist was employed to raise awareness of health issues with the community and recruit and mentor members of the local community to become Health Activists themselves.

True Food Co-op in Reading is a community owned enterprise with 130 members & four paid staff. It provides a wide range of stock from several whole-food wholesalers, as well as supplying local fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, milk and meat. They have a shop & run weekly markets in several locations.
