What they have said is...

The membership has been a real benefit to me. I have been coming to the gym for 2 months as I need to loose weight due to a health condition.  I enjoying using the treadmill and I have already gone from level 5 to level 7.  The gym instructors are very helpful and motivating.  I enjoy all the weight machines and hope to eventually move on to the free standing weights.  Darren Harding

Tell us about the intended outcomes

What we did or are doing

Mental Health Service Users apply direct to Direct Payments for a  membership. Once approved details are sent to SOLL Leisure who adminsiter the membership and contact the new member and invite them to collect their membership card and book them in for a start up session within the gyms.

We chose this method because...

We chose this method as it removed any barriers to entry and makes it easy for the new member to start their membership.

What's happened is...

We currently have 21 Mental Health Service Users on the scheme with more applications in the process of being approved.

What we'd do differently...

This is a new scheme and we will continually review the offering to ensure it fits with our current target group and develop it to include other client groups in the next 12 months.

Evaluation

We will be reviwing the scheme on a quarterly basis and will be conducting a survey with the particpants looking at their gym usage, mental wellbeing and user satisfaction.

This project helped to deliver...

Target a user group with the leisure centres that is not currently targeted.

The project is now...
